About Us

In 1947, the Ford Employees Federal Credit Union was first established to serve the employees of the Ford Assembly Plant in St. Paul. Steady growth was maintained and eventually the credit union added the Minneapolis Parts Depot in its field of membership. In the 1960's, the credit union's name was changed to Twin Cities Auto Employees Federal Credit Union.

Through its affiliation with the UAW Local 879, several select employee groups were added and in 1981, FMC Corporation became a large part of the credit union and a branch office was opened in Minneapolis. This office experienced substantial growth and needed to move to a larger Fridley location in 1986.

In order to grow and protect the credit union's future, Highgrove was converted to a community based credit union in December 1992. The field of membership grew to include individuals living or working in the Highland Park, Macalester, and Groveland neighborhoods of St. Paul. The credit union's name was changed to reflect its new charter: Highgrove Community Federal Credit Union. In order to provide future growth potential, Highgrove expanded it's charter in 1996 to include the Grand Avenue Business District (Community districts 13 & 16) and in 1997 added the Summit/University and Selby/Dale areas (Community District 8).

During its expansion and growth, the credit union has maintained its goals of conducting business in order to efficiently serve its members and to treat its employees with courtesy and consideration.
