Highgrove Community Federal Credit Union (HCFCU) donated 500 pounds of non-perishable food items to the West 7th Street Salvation Army Food Shelf. Highgrove held its annual pumpkin giveaway on Saturday October 24 at the Credit Unions building located on West 7th Street and Montreal Avenue. Highgrove requested that its members and the community bring a food item to donate in exchange for a pumpkin. The credit union was also able to donate the remaining pumpkins from the event to be given out to the Salvation Army’s Food Shelf recipients.

Highgrove Community Federal Credit Union (HCFCU) donated over 400 pounds of non-perishable food items to the West 7th Street Salvation Army Food Shelf. Highgrove held its annual pumpkin give away on Saturday October 25th at the Credit Unions new building located on West 7th Street. Highgrove requested that its members and the community bring a food item to donate in exchange for a pumpkin. The response was such that in a just two hour’s time, Highgrove gave away two hundred pumpkins and collected over 400 pounds of food donations.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony begins at 12 Noon with St Paul Mayor Coleman
Highgrove Community Federal Credit Union (HCFCU) will hold its official Grand Opening of its new two-story, 12,000 Square foot building located on the corner of West 7th Street, Montreal Avenue, and Lexington Parkway on Saturday August 9th from 11 a.m. to 3.p.m.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 12 noon. Scheduled to be in attendance will be St Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, St Paul City Councilman Pat Harris, Highgrove Board of Directors, and HCFCU employees and members.
The community is invited to join us as we celebrate the Grand Opening event with
activities that will include games for the whole family, giveaways, food, and refreshments.
The credit union began in 1947 as Ford Employees Federal Credit Union to serve the auto workers of the Ford Assembly Plant in Highland Park. Highgrove converted to a community based credit union in 1992 with several St Paul neighborhoods within their membership charter. The credit union’s membership charter expanded again in September of 2007 to include the City of Saint Paul.

New building located on West 7th Street opens for business Monday June 2nd
Highgrove Community Federal Credit Union (HCFCU) has relocated both of the Credit Union’s St Paul branch offices into a new two-story, 12,000 Square foot building at 1804 West 7th Street, located near the intersection of West 7th Street, Montreal Avenue, and Lexington Parkway.
Highgrove’s new location will provide credit union members expanded service hours, drive thru service lanes, and ample off street parking. Highgrove’s membership charter encompasses the entire City of Saint Paul, to include all persons who live, work, go to school, or worship in Saint Paul

Highgrove Community Federal Credit Union Introduces Money Management Program at Cretin Derham Hall High School.
Highgrove Community Federal Credit Union (HCFCU) is sponsoring an educational program, entitled “Your Checking Account” to Cretin-Derham Hall High School students. The program is designed to help students in learning the techniques and responsibilities associated with maintaining a personal checking account.
Each student will receive a supply of checks, deposit slips, bank statements and related reference material. After learning how to open account, keep checkbook records and reconcile the monthly statements, students will maintain their own checking account for simulated eight-month period.
Additional banking services such as the use of ATM machines, debit cards, and internet banking are covered. The materials are designed not only to teach an important aspect of money management but also to correct poor check writing habits which may otherwise persist throughout adult life.
HCFCU believes strongly that the credit union has an important responsibility to educate students on making wise financial decisions. Both educators and the financial community emphasize the relationship between sound money management training in school and future personal financial stability.

Charter Expansion for Highgrove Community Federal Credit Union
The City of St Paul will be the new field of membership for Highgrove
Highgrove Community Federal Credit Union (HCFCU) has expanded its membership charter to include the entire City of St Paul. The new field of membership will now include all persons who live, work, go to school, or worship in St Paul. Prior to this expansion, Highgrove Community Federal Credit Union served the areas of Highland Park, Macalester-Groveland, Summit-Grand, Crocus Hill, and Merriam Park neighborhoods.

Highgrove Community Federal Credit Union (HCFCU) will break ground on its new
Two-story, 12,000 Square foot building located on the corner of West 7th Street, Montreal Avenue, and Lexington Parkway during a ceremony on Thursday August 9th at 6:00pm.
In attendance will be Highgrove Board of Directors, Representatives from the Mayor’s Office, St Paul City Council Members, and HCFCU employees. The new building is scheduled to open summer 2008.
